6 Tips for Planning a Scottish Elopement in 2026

If you’re dreaming of an intimate and romantic elopement day in Scotland, but are struggling to plan your Scotland wedding day I’ve put together these Scotland elopement planning guides with six tips to help you plan the perfect Scottish elopement. As an elopement photographer in Scotland, I love to work together to help plan your dream elopement!

In this complete guide I’ve included an extensive list of locations, including average travel time for your Cairngorms, Glencoe or Isle of Skye elopement. Other wonderful locations include some charming villages in the Scottish Borders or quiet spots in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs.

The great thing about eloping is that you can really plan your wedding day to exactly your own tastes and plans! Eloping is all about you as a couple and how you feel comfortable!

For over ten years, I have been a photographer with a keen interest in portraits and capturing authentic moments. As a Scotland elopement photographer I love travelling off the beaten path throughout Scotland, from Glencoe to the Isle of Skye, and photographing couples on their wedding or elopement day.

In terms of style, I would describe my photography as couple and “moment” led. Pictures are the most authentic to you as a couple when you are natural and not overly posed, and that’s how I like to capture them.

My editing style is fine-art, which means a timeless and classic style, which isn’t going to age or look dated. I ensure my edits are also optimised for both print and digital so you can be assured that your photos will look just as good on your wall as on a screen!

By eloping in Scotland, you have the opportunity to select a special elopement location with captivating history and stunning scenery, such as Glencoe, the Cairngorms or the Isle of Skye to name a few.

The Scottish highlands offers countless incredible elopement locations and experiences, making your elopement even more memorable. No matter the Scottish weather, you can have the perfect elopement experience and capture stunning photographs of your magical day!

Yes! Hall Photography supports love!

Inside each environmentally friendly Hall Photography luxury keepsake box is a hi-spec USB-3 drive containing all your fully edited photos from your day. Also included is a selection of 8 high quality prints curated by us.
There is also space to store special mementos in the box – whether a shell from the beach, dried wedding flowers or even cufflinks from the day.

My photography style is focussed on capturing authentic moments between couples. It’s important for me to focus on the special moments between the couple.
A wedding is all about the couple and their love, and that’s what I focus on and not spend time manufacturing lots of different stiff poses. Where needed I can gently guide you and before the special day I will share a short guide on easy and relaxed poses to help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
My editing style is fine-art, which means a timeless and classic style, which isn’t going to age or look dated.

Hall Photography is based just outside of Glasgow, Scotland. This gives me a perfect base for the Central Belt, Southern Scotland and the Highlands & Islands of Scotland.
As detailed in the packages offered, the full and half day packages include travel within 150 miles of my home, thereafter charged at 45p/mile.

As I capture intimate moments, I focus on elopements and small, micro-weddings and mini weddings (approx. 50 people). However, I do enjoy shooting the occasional larger event!

Of course, I can be your witness! Just let me know in advance so I can provide the relevant information for you!

Scottish weather can be very changeable and it’s not uncommon to experience sun, rain, wind and even snow in one day!
It is all part of the fun of photography in Scotland and we will still go ahead – but it’s important to be prepared for every weather eventuality, bring warm and weatherproof clothing just in case. And have fun making a splash!

Of course, high quality download and personal reproduction rights are transferred to you upon final delivery of the photographs. This is included in all the Hall Photography packages.
